Me team will be partaking in many events one being a charitable event called Play it Smart. Play it Smart is a educational program is designed to partner academic coaches with student-athletes in order to, “take a student-athlete’s passion for sports and intense dedication to their team and transform it into a force for greater good in their lives,” according to the National Football Foundation.
The “Play It Smart” academic coach works with the student-athletes for the entire school year and takes on the role of a mentor, teacher, counselor, coach, and friend. The game-plan is to turn each football team into a learning team by improving grades, study halls, SAT prep classes, college admission processes, community service initiatives, and most importantly, life skills. As a result the “Play It Smart” program has a 98% graduation rate and sends 87% of its participants onto college.

Dream Team
The reason I chose the team that I did is really just because we had to choose a team, and thats one I though would be interesting. It also was one that I felt like would be kind of fun/easy to do.

Food For Thought (041411)
These are things that make you go hmmm. Some of them are valid questions that I would like to know the answer to. Others can be explained but still give you something to think about.
1. Why do we say something is out of whack? What is a whack?
2. If a pig loses its voice, is it disgruntled?
3. Why do women wear evening gowns to go out at night? Shouldn't they be wearing night gowns?
4. Why is the man who invests all your money called a broker?
7. Why is a person who plays the piano called a pianist, but a person who drives a race car not called a racist?
8. Why are a wise man and a wise guy opposites?
9. Why do overlook and oversee mean opposite things?
10. If horrific is akin to horrible, why isn't terrific akin to terrible?
11. Why isn't 11 pronounced onety one?
12. Do Roman paramedics refer to IV's as "4's"?
13. Why is it that if someone tells you that there are 1 billion stars in the universe you will believe them, but if they tell you a wall has wet paint you will have to touch it to be sure?
15. Why are there locks on the door of stores that are open 24/7 365 days a year?
16. Why are there braille dots on a drive-through ATM keypad?
